AMERICAN LEGION BOYS STATE
2025 Boy's State/Boy's Nation UPDATE
Time To Sign Up!
Onondaga County American Legion Boy’s State Chairman Glen Wheelock has provided essential documents for those participating in 2025’s Boy’s State. The documents are posted below in PDF format and should be able to be printed. If you have issues accessing or printing these documents, don’t hesitate to contact this site’s administrator, William Galvin at onondagavets@gmail.com or Glen Wheelock directly, whose contact information is linked below.
American Legion Boys State is a week-long program that immerses high school youth (currently completing their junior year) in citizenship and leadership training.
These young learn the practical aspects of government as it exists in New York State, and hopefully come to recognize that the individual is integral to the character and success of government.
They participate in physical fitness, team work and other activities under the guidance of American Legion counselors and U.S. Marine Cadre. Boy’s State takes place at Morrisville State College, usually during the last week in June.
If you or someone you know would like to participate, contact your local American Legion Post to inquire about sponsoring you. If none are available near you, reach out to our Boy’s State Chairman Glen Wheelock, who can get you sponsored.
Once a Post agrees to sponsor you, you will receive a notification to go ahead and submit the online application (help will be provided) to that year’s Boys State program.
