Community Comes Together to Honor Veterans at Oakwood Cemetery

May 25th, 2025 -Syracuse, NY – Oakwood Cemetery. On May 24th, 2025, Members, Families, and Friends of Syracuse Post 41 take to the Oakwood Cemetery hills on Saturday morning. We slogged through the rain and mud to ensure our veterans’ graves are decorated! Commander Richard Sturdevant, Bob Haumann, Juanita Perez, Bill Galvin, and Peter Thompson were present. We were joined by remarkable patriots from the Phillips family, Ken Johnson, and others representing the Boy Scouts, including the ever-present Kelly Galvin and Joe Lathrop.

The Cemetery, a place of profound historical significance, serves as an actual roadmap to Syracuse’s rich history.
