Need Assistance?
The American Legion Service Officer
Accredited American Legion service officers are specially trained to provide expert assistance, free of charge, to veterans and their families. While the majority of a service officer’s work involves application for VA disability benefits, these compassionate professionals also provide information, referrals and resources on education, employment and business, death benefits and other important topics.

County Sexual Harassment Policy
The Officers and Executive Board members of the Onondaga County American Legion are dedicated to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our Legionnaires, employees, guests, friends, and family.
To achieve this, we have adopted the New York State model Sexual Harassment Policy. Copies of the Policy itself, The Sexual Harassment Prevention Notice, and the Training Assessment Form (to be used in conjunction with the training video) are available in the links below and the training video on the right. Please provide any feedback on this endeavor through onondagavets@gmail.com.

HELP In Accessing Your Account
Information provided by Onondaga County Service Officer Glen Wheelock and MyHealtheVet coordinator Maggie Larkin.
Ms. Larkin has created an educational PowerPoint for the secure sign in method. The process can be difficult because it is so individualized to each person. “Not everyone will need to do a video call and not everyone will have to worry about a duplicate account, but It’s better to play it safe and have it. Please feel free to print off anything that you want to (they suggest that you print off the documents for setting up the accounts if you are able to) that way they can be handed out and saved for later or to have handy.”
The launching platform will be the same for all, but that’s about it. Some Guys and Gal’s may choose to use LOGIN vs ID.ME, and I promise that once they have it set up it’s all done and they will not have to go through all the steps again!”
